When I knocked on this woman’s door she was barely able to remain standing long enough to tell me her story. With the help of a car jack (gotta use what you got!) and a chainsaw we were able to cut and stack the tree along the alley way. I posted Free Firewood on FaceBook and the wood was hauled off to a home instead of ending up in a landfill. The woman was moved into an assisted living home not long afterwards but was spared the expense of a professional abatement, which would have been put on her property taxes.
